Proper attitude: a big heart and a small ego are the most important ingredients to bring to yoga.
A balanced (sattvic) diet adds a lot to the practice of yoga. At least four hours between meals is advised. Practicing with a yoga mat is necessary (mats are available for rent at $1.00 per class as well as being sold in our retail store “urban Couture”). A mat will provide support and added comfort when you practice.
Practicing yoga is an excellent way to revitalize the mind and body, while practicing Yogic Breathing and Meditation cultivates and creates focus, clarity, and freedom in the mind.
As with all forms of exercise, you always start with a strong foundation of Level 1 or Gentle & Therapeutics Classes to condition your body before transitioning to Level 1/2, Level 2, and with time and Practice Level 2/3.
Please discuss with your teacher where you’re at before moving forward from Level 1. Before transitioning to each additional level please consult your teacher or the Yoga Director (**before moving into a higher level class**).
Please advise your teacher of any injuries or health concerns that you may have. Please pause and consult with your teacher if you feel pain or fatigue at any point in your practice. Listen to your body, trust your body, and always follow your heart.
With Love & Light we invite you to practice with us!
